Paul Aloisio of Restless Spirit joins us this week for a tribute / remembrance of Ozzy Osbourne.  It’s a heavy time in not only heavy metal but in the larger popular culture.  Most of us grew up listening to Ozzy and Sabbath but we sometimes take for granted his impact on the greater culture.  Rennie and I are back with another installment of Kill or Be Killed, our exploration of crime films from the 70’s and early 80’s.  With the passing of Gene Hackman, this episode is somewhat in memoriam of a great, prolific actor.  THE FRENCH CONNECTION established Hackman as a force in Hollywood as well as heralding in a new wave of darkly realistic crime movies.

Keith Huckins of Deadguy / Kiss It Goodbye / Rorschach joins us this week.  Eith has been a huge influence on me as a guitarist dating all the way back to his work with the seminal metallic hardcore band Rorschach. At that particular time, no one was doing anything like that and he continued his work with Deadguy in the mid-90’s.  Fast forward over two decades and Deadguy has now deployed their new album Near Death Travel Services available from Relapse Records.

With documentary “Wired for Chaos” just hitting theaters, it was a great time to welcome him to EWB and we dive deep into his fascinating story and the epic documentary directed by Rex Miller. This week, Baron Misuraca joins us. This week we’re going back a few years, back to the Vault.  Randy Larsen and I were doing a sub-series called Road to Ruin where we discussed records and movies that we iconic to us.  Apparently, doing Werner Herzog’s Bad Lieutenant was my idea.  Abel Ferrara’s grimey, depraved exploration of a NYC detective’s descent into darkness is one of my all-time favorite movies of the 90”s.
