Wednesday Oct 29, 2025
It’s Halloween Week! In celebration of the darkest season of the year, we are diving in H.P.Lovecraft’s most iconic story, THE CALL OF CTHULU. Written in summer of 1926 it was first published in Weird Tales February 1928 issue and is an integral part of Lovecraft’s Cthulu Mythos.

EWB 416 NO KINGS

Wednesday Oct 22, 2025
This episode is not for everyone but I feel compelled to put this out on the feels of th No Kings weekend. I have never been political; for most of my life, I have felt like politics had little impact on my life. Most people probably feel the same way, dealing with the everyday trials of making a living and taking care of themselves and their loved ones. Politics has always felt like this abstraction to me, which is probably why Trump and MAGA have found a foot hold in the US political machine. I attended the Newark No Kings Rally and I wanted to share some of my observations and thoughts.

EWB 415 Darkness Weaves
Wednesday Oct 15, 2025
Wednesday Oct 15, 2025
This week, Karl Haikara and I wrap up Darkness Weaves, the final Kane novel. If you’re tuning into this for the first time, Karl and I started this collaboration to discuss the work of Karl Edward Wagner, an author or sword and sorcery, horror and weird fiction. We started out with his horror short stories and then dove into the world of Kane, his most well-known character; a dark, immortal anti-hero who may or may not be the biblical Kane who slew his brother Abel. #horsemenofthepodcastingapocalypse #everythingwentblackpodcast #karledwardwagner #swordandsorcery

EWB 411 KILL OR BE KILLED SORCERER
Wednesday Sep 17, 2025
Wednesday Sep 17, 2025
This week Rennie and I discuss William Friedkin’s SORCERER, a film that was a critical and commercial flop when it was released in 1977. As the years went by, the film enjoyed a critical reassessment and is even considered by some to be a classic. If you are a fan of gritty realism where there are no heroes, this is a film for you. Also, dig the incredible score by Tangerine Dream.

EWB 410 JONATHAN DENNISON
Wednesday Sep 03, 2025
Wednesday Sep 03, 2025
Jonathan Dennison of Cadabra Records and Chiroptera Press join us this week. I feel like this conversation has been a long time coming; I’ve been a fan for years, of both the weird fiction narration records and his publishing efforts. Chiroptera has been on a hot streak with recent editions of Lovecraft collections, Thomas Ligotti and Mark Samuels to name a few.
